Dr John Swain

Having spent a lot of time in Regional Queensland, Dr John finds the scenery around Gympie a refreshing change and loves a visit to the beach.

Dr John graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from James Cook University in Cairns, before gaining a wealth of experience working in Emerald, Dysart, Middlemount, Mackay and Cairns. After that, we were lucky enough to have John join Jacaranda Family Dental, where he’s become a firm member of the family.

John enjoys spending time with family, friends, and seeking out new activities and learning new things. It’s interesting to note that if he wasn’t a dentist, he’d try his hand at coaching professional rugby union! Having coaching all ages, both men and women, and juniors to representative level, you can expect a long appointment if you ask about Rugby!’

Bringing joy to others is what he loves the most, both in the dental chair and away from the practice. If you were coming over for dinner he’d make you seafood chowder with Koko Laisa or Pani popo for dessert, although if you’re not a fan of either he can always make steamed hams. Having grown up with cats, he’s been turned over to the dog side in recent years and his secret talent is annoying his girlfriend with his talent to mimic accents and character voices.
