If you’re a nervous patient or feel anxious about the dentist, you’re in the right place.
If you’ve been putting off dental treatment because of a fear of visiting the Dentist, then it’s time to give the team at Jacaranda Family Dental a call. Here are some of the ways we help you relax:
The great thing about seeing you as a family is that we get to understand more about your lifestyle and activities and how they impact the health of your teeth. We’ll also be able to advise you on any hereditary conditions and how they can affect the younger members of the family. It’s something we can keep a close eye on as your little ones grow up.
We believe that passing on great oral health to the younger generation is one of the best things about family dentistry. There’s nothing better than seeing a child who enjoys coming for visits with their family and understands the importance of keeping clean teeth and gums.
Teeth are built for life and we want it to stay that way!
Our specially trained team
Dr Bradshaw and the Dental team explain everything in plain English, so you’ll understand everything that’s going to happen. We avoid Dental techy talk.
All our Dentists work alongside a fantastic team of dental assistants who are always on hand to give an encouraging pat and a comforting smile throughout your treatment.
Netflix, music + snuggly blankets
And finally, we’ll offer you one of our warm, snuggly blankets and neck pillow to make you feel warm and comfortable.
If there’s anything else that will help you relax, just let us know. We’re happy to work with whatever helps you.
This is a great solution to help you have your treatment completed whilst you are having a light sleep & wake up to the treatment all done. Most of our patients don’t even remember having the treatment which is so wonderful & relaxing. The dental treatment under sedation is performed here at the practice, so no travelling required, it’s as simple as that.
After a few minutes you’ll start to feel the calming effects & pop off to sleep. During the treatment you might hear some noises however drift back to sleep. You will need a driver to drop you off & pick you up after your treatment, including have someone with you at home that night as you’ll still be a little sleepy (how nice).
The next day after treatment you’ll be able resume life as normal, including driving, going back to work and looking after the kids. However, if you have had treatment that requires additional recovery days we will be sure to provide you with rest instructions & if needed a medical certificate.
General Anaesthetic in our Clinic
General anaesthetic is a great option if you’re feeling nervous or need a lengthy dental procedure, such as dental implants or your wisdom teeth removed. The first thing we’ll do is check that you’re able to have a general anaesthetic as not everyone will be suitable. Your health is always our number one priority.
The general anaesthetic is performed right here in our friendly clinic with a team of highly skilled Anaesthetists. You’ll be sedated for the duration of your treatment and wake after it’s all finished. Easy! Our team will explain it all in more detail during your assessment and answer any questions you might have.
We take it at your pace
We’ll introduce you to the team, and make sure you’re comfortable in your surroundings before we start talking about treatment.
We might find some cues to help you relax such as music, a movie or something you can bring in with you. We’re happy to work with anything that will help make your visit stress-free.
The warmest welcome and relaxing patient lounge
Our wonderful front-of-house team puts you at ease the minute you enter the door with a warm, welcoming smile. They’ll greet you and show you where to relax. We can have a chat about your day or leave you to browse through the magazines in peace, whatever you prefer.
Our patient lounge has all our favourite travel photos from around the world and we’ve created a great kids’ corner to keep the little ones busy.
We’ll pop the kettle on for a tea or coffee before your appointment and you’re welcome to use our private bathroom before your treatment starts.
